The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children up to 7 years.
Learners must have a relevant Level 2 qualification or have been working in an Early Years setting for a minimum of 2 years.
To be included in the ratios as an Early Years Educator in the UK, learners must have obtained a GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English.
How will I be Assessed
Learners will need to be working or volunteering on a practical placement in an under 5’s setting over the course duration. Specified hours must be completed across all the stipulated age ranges. All units covered during the course will be internally assessed using a range of methods. This will include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments and a longitudinal study. Students must have access to a laptop and Internet.
How will I be Taught
Learners will be taught in a classroom setting by experienced and knowledgeable tutors. Units are structured around the following themes, health and well-being, legislation, play, development and learning for school readiness and professional development.
What can I do after this Course
Upon achievement of this qualification, learners will be qualified as Early Years Educators and access roles such as a practitioner in a nursery or foundation class in a primary school.
