The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children up to 7 years.
Entry Requirements
Learners must have a relevant Level 2 qualification or have been working in an Early Years setting for a minimum of 2 years.
To be included in the ratios as an Early Years Educator in the UK, learners must have obtained a GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English.
How will I be taught and what will I learn?
Learners will be taught in a classroom setting by an experienced and knowledgeable tutor. Units are structured around the following themes, health and well-being, legislation, play, development and learning for school readiness and professional development.
How will I be assessed?
Learners will need to be working or volunteering in a practical placement in an under 5’s setting over the course duration. Specified hours must be completed. All units covered during the course will be internally assessed using a range of methods. This will include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments and a longitudinal study. Students must have access to a laptop and Internet.
What can I do after this course?
Upon achievement of this qualification, learners will be qualified as Early Years Educators and can access roles such as a practitioner in a nursery or foundation class in a primary school.
